Cold front cometh.
Southwest winds gust as high as 25 MPH today and tonight. Strongest winds will occur in Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties, where a Wind Advisory is in effect from 11 PM today until 5 AM Wednesday.
While a stray shower is possible late this afternoon, the main event for valley rain & mountains snow arrives late tonight. Prime time for numerous showers, a few storms & mountain snow is 10 PM today until 8 AM Wednesday. Rain totals should be in the 0.10-0.30″ range for much of Southern Arizona. Isolated spots may receive up to 0.50″ rain.
Snow level overnight drops to 5,500 feet. Up to 10″ snow is possible atop the White Mountains and Mount Graham. 4-7″ of snow is expected on Mount Lemmon.
Drier conditions prevail Wednesday afternoon as highs struggle to reach the low 60s. Models indicate a strong warming trend by week’s end as highs return to the mid to upper 70s.
