Splendid winter weather on tap this weekend.
A weak system passes well north of the Tucson this afternoon with little fanfare. The only impact this feature will have is slightly cooler daytime highs versus yesterday. Temperatures peak in the mid 60s today, which is about 5° cooler than Thursday.
Mostly sunny skies give way to clearing overnight. Lows bottom out in the mid to upper 30s metro-wide.
High pressure anchored off the Baja peninsula drives a strong weekend warming trend. Temperatures range from the upper 60s Saturday to the upper 70s Sunday. Plenty of sunshine is expected both days.
Areas west of Tucson could flirt with the 80° mark for the second half of the weekend.
Models indicate a moisture-starved storm system clipping eastern Arizona early next week. This will shave off about 10° off daytime highs between Monday and Tuesday. The low 60s return both Tuesday and Wednesday, which is slightly below average for late January.
